The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Board of Education consists of nine members elected to four-year terms. Emory's previous career experience included working as the superintendent of Pitt County Schools in North Carolina. Beverly Emory was the superintendent of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools from 2013 to 2019.Hairston's previous career experience included serving as superintendent with the Richmond County School System in Georgia, and as a principal and region superintendent in Atlanta, Georgia. Hairston was the superintendent from 2019 to 2020. McManus' previous career experience includes serving as the school district's interim superintendent, as a deputy superintendent with the school district, and as an assistant superintendent with Hillsborough County Public Schools in Florida. McManus was appointed superintendent on February 23, 2021. Tricia McManus is the superintendent of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools. This information is updated as we become aware of changes.
